Between ten and twenty percent of Canadian youth suffer from a mental health illness or disorder and yet they have the least access to care. Many promising solutions do not make it beyond the academic setting in which they were developed. TRAM is encouraging patients, researchers, policy makers, service providers and community groups from across Canada to propose their solution for breaking down this barrier. Ultimately, TRAM will fund one pan-Canadian network that will catalyze fundamental change in youth mental health care within five years. While a competitive process by nature, the Strengthening Workshop provided the opportunity for applicant groups to collaborate and connect with youth experts and mental health professionals from around the world.
